Many view tomorrow morning, Sunday, the anniversary of the Lord's resurrection. It is wonderful that many take this day to go to church - some for the first time. What is sad is that this day has become so marked with pagan practices such as the egg, the bunny, and even the word Easter. These deep entrenched traditions have even caused the church to forget the Jewish roots of our faith. The Lord was crucified on Passover. If His crucifixion had been this year, that was from Monday at sundown until Tuesday at sundown. Our Lord would have been in the grave of owned by Joseph before the sun set on Tuesday of this past week. He would arise 3 days and 3 nights later, on the Feast of First Fruits. For 2010, that would mean he would have come up from the grave sometime from sundown Friday until just before sunrise on Saturday.

As Christians, we must come to realize it is not about the bunny but about the blood!

Christ Our Passover

From Monday evening to Tuesday evening marks the Lord's Passover. This is the day that many Christians call the Last Supper. It was more than that, though. It was our Jewish Savior, with his Jewish disciples, following a precious Jewish custom. It was so important to the Lord that "he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer." (Luke 22:15). Even more so, during the supper, the Lord reminded the disciples to keep the Passover "in remembrance of me.” (Luke 22:19). Even Paul, years afterwards, says that “Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us celebrate the feast!” (I Corinthians 5:7-8).

Happy Passover! Keep the feast in remembrance of our Lord.

Americans stock up to be ready for end of the world

From a Feb. 14 article in The Guardian out of the UK, due to "Recession and the constant threat of terrorist attacks" that Americans are stocking up. They state that "new life" has been given to the "ingrained survivalist instinct." (article)

This is just not among church folk who are aware of what the Bible states concerning the last days. This is something that is instinctive. People have a sense of something - the know something is coming. Our first step in preparation is our soul! Then it is fasting and prayer. THEN it is the natural preparation.

Although the title reflects how the calendar continues to move on, leaving the 9th of Av behind, it is never far out of the mind of the Jewish people. In a recent survey, 64% of Israelis would like to see the temple rebuilt. "An analysis of the answers showed that not only the ultra-Orthodox and the religious look forward to the rebuilding of the Temple (100% and 97% respectively), but also the traditional public (91%) and many seculars – 47%." Not only they but also a multitude of Christians look forward to the day in which THE TEMPLE will be rebuilt - knowing it will mark the final leg of their journey here!

Beginning at sundown this Wednesday, July 29th, and going through until sundown Thursday marks the ninth of Av on the Jewish calendar. It is this day that Tisha B'Av is observed - the Fast of the Ninth of Av. It is a day of mourning to commemorate the many tragedies that have befallen the Jews. This day primarily commemorates the destruction of the first and second Temples, both of which were destroyed on the ninth of Av. This year, more than any other of the recent past, the Jewish people have started to get a yearning for their long lost temple. Just watch and listen to the Israeli Knesset discuss the Temple and the temple mount that occurred recently.

This is just one more sign post that we are nearing the soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ. As 2 Thessalonians 2 states, speaking about the antichrist, " Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God."

The Bible states there is coming a day in which we shall see a Jewish temple on this mount. A day in which we will mark as the final count down to the return of our Lord. Until then, set aside some time this Wednesday evening and during the day Thursday to pray for Jerusalem.

Even so, come Lord Jesus.

The New World Order Is Here!

Growing up in the Midwest, being raised in a Bible believing family, and going to a Spirit filled church, I would often hear about a coming one-world government with a global currency.

Russia's President, Dmitry Medvedev, pulled the world's new currency from his pocket at the meeting of G8 leaders in the Italian city of Aquila.

That there would be 'colored' money printed to replace our green dollars.

There also were rumors of a computer chip that would be implanted in our hand or head.

Of course, most of the time this was just discounted as rumors - part of some conspiracy theories! Most went on with their lives, not thinking much about it. Well, this is one soul that kept watching. From what I can see taking place, the New World Order is not coming - IT IS HERE!!! I leave you with the following video:

Feet of Iron & Clay

"In that you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter's clay and partly of iron, it will be a divided kingdom; but it will have in it the toughness of iron, inasmuch as you saw the iron mixed with common clay. As the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of pottery, so some of the kingdom will be strong and part of it will be brittle. And in that you saw the iron mixed with common clay, they will combine with one another in the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, even as iron does not combine with pottery." Daniel 2:41-43

King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream in which the Lord revealed to him the succession of Gentile powers that would occur until the Lord himself would set up His kingdom. The interpretation was clear. Babylon was the head of gold, followed by the Mede/Persian empire, then the Greek, and then the Roman. It becomes a little unclear when we get down the the feet and toes. They were of iron and clay. Many have made this to be the Holy Roman Empire or the revised Roman Empire. Each teaching has it's strong points but when you compare it to further scripture, it is easy to see there is more to the picture.

When we take a close examination of the feet and toes, it seems to resemble a modern day map - showing countries in different colors.

That is, in fact, what we are seeing. The "last days" empire will be that of countries being conjoined together but "they will not adhere to one another." Daniel even described the final beast of the endtime in chapter 7 to be one that "was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns." It would be an empire different than anything that had ever been seen before - ruled by more than one ruler. Revelation 13 describes the same thing - an antichrist system made up of the very component parts that we read of in Daniel 7. The "last days" empire will be one of many nations coming together, ruled by many until "the One" steps forward. It will be a new world order!

If you have noticed world events of late, you then should be aware that we are in the time of the feet of iron and clay. The emergence of the toes of iron and clay are happening right before us. Just listen to Prime Minister Brown in the video below:

The "New World Order" is forming. The iron and clay are fitting together - although not clinging together. It will be only a short time before it is ready for "the One."

AN URGENT MESSAGE

As I write this on the morning of daylight savings time, when we turn our clocks ahead, it seems that with each passing day the prophetic time clock keeps jumping ahead as well! Of course the Lord describes this in Matthew 24:22 (NASB) "Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short." The signs of the Lord's soon return are appearing at an increasing rate and with more intensity - just like birthpangs - the word picture the Lord gave us of this time in Matthew 24.

First and foremost, if you are a minister, what are you doing to prepare? As you recall, Noah moved with fear - a Godly fear - to build an ark, preparing for something no one had never seen (Hebrew 11:7). By doing so, he condemned the world and saved his family. What are you doing preacher?

The End of All Things is at Hand!

The apostle Peter tells us in 1 Peter 4:7 that "the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer." If there were ever a WORD for the Church today, this is it!

At the time of the Lord's first coming, the scriptures tell us that the "church" world and world governments were unaware that He had even arrived (Matthew 2). It was not until the wise men came, asking questions, that they were made to know that the Messiah had come. Of course, the wise men had been looking and followed the signs!

Jesus, while teaching on the end of the age and His return, commanded "what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch" (Mark 13:37). We are to be watching - praying! If not, that day will catch us unaware. Paul commended the church in Thessalonica that they were not in darkness that the return of the Lord would catch them by surprise. Even reminding them to "let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober" (1 Thessalonians 5:1-6).

Of course, in every incident in the scriptures concerning the return of the Lord and the "endtime," we are given signs to look for. Whether that is the wars, famines, and earthquakes we read about in Matthew, Mark, and Luke -

or the rise of the antichrist and the great falling away that the apostle Paul describes in his writings -

or the entire endtime scene that John describes in the book of Revelation.

This does not even include the words given to us by the Lord through Daniel, Isaiah, Zechariah, and the other old testament prophets.

We are without excuse!

As the news headlines scream of Christ's soon coming - as they describe to us the path of the antichrist and his world system - as they reveal to us the last days scenario right before our eyes, are we paying attention?!?! Do we know what we are reading, seeing, hearing? As the end of days continue upon us, will we find ourselves in the role of Herod, the chief priests, and scribes who had no clue or like the wise men who watched - and came!!!

As we get deeper into 2009, it is easy to see just how quick things are moving toward the global system that Daniel and John wrote about in the Bible. A key element that has been missing has been a global currency - similar to what the EU did in creating the euro. Below is a video of the EU leaders calling for such a currency.

Well, it is a new year - 2009 - hard to believe time moves so swiftly!. It has been some time since I last posted but two things caught my eye that I thought needed to post! The first is in regards to the mindset of Americans. It is from Constance Cumbey's blog. Please read below:

Is the unthinkable becoming acceptable in depression economies?

I came down today to the IHOP (International House of Pancakes) in my law office neighborhood. As I write these words I am still here. The party of which I write walked out the door a few minutes ago. At the large booth just ahead of me sat three management looking types discussing the woes of the economy in general and the automotive industry in particular. The waitress told me they come in often. I could not help but overhear significant parts of their conversation which concerned union contracts and industry financial sacrifices.

But then one volunteered that what really harmed them were the retirees and those near retirement with their pensions and health benefits. They laughed and said they and their doctors are sucking everything out of the system. The oldest of their number didn't laugh as loud as the other two who appeared to be late 30s, early 40s. One gentleman then said and he could be heard plainly, "What we really need is more Kevorkian* . . . that would solve the problem!" They laughingly agreed, the oldest gentleman without the apparent enthusiasm of the two others.

My manners suffered. I couldn't help it. I blurted out "SCARY." At that point, they all looked nervous and the topic immediately changed."

It was depression type pressures that led Germany to embrace Hitler's measures to euthanize the aged and the ill. It looks like similar dynamics are in place and it could well be that we are no less vulnerable than were the Germans of the 1930s.

Frightening times lie ahead and are already here for many. Stay tuned!

Merkel and Sarkozy call for global 'economic security' council

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicholas Sarkozy have warned the US not to block attempts to build an international financial regulator, calling for a new economic body similar to the UN's Security Council.

"I've always in my political life been a supporter of a close alliance with the United States but let's be clear: in the 21st century, a single nation can no longer say what we must do or what we must think," said Mr Sarkozy at an international symposium in Paris on Thursday (8 January), shortly before US president-elect Barack Obama enters office.

The French leader had originally called the Paris meeting - "New World, New Capitalism" - a global "summit," but limited his ambitions after few international leaders deigned to attend.

"We'll take our decisions on 2 April in London," he went on, referring to an upcoming meeting of the G20. "Perhaps the United States will join us in this change."

Ms Merkel, also in attendance at the conference, echoed the French president's warning to Washington.

"No country can act alone in this day and age, not even the United States, however powerful they may be," she said, Deutsche Welle reports.

She said that hopes that out of the economic crisis, governments can construct a new architecture for managing global capitalism.

"Our response [to the economic crisis] must be more than a few rules," she said. "The crisis is an opportunity to create an international architecture of institutions."

Global economic charter

The chancellor said the world needs an "economic council" in the United Nations as well as the existing body that deals with security matters.

"It is possible that alongside the [UN] Security Council, we could also have an economic council," she said, adding that alongside the UN Charter, an economic sustainability charter "for a long-term reasonable economy" should be drafted establishing rules for global financial governance.

"Our response must be more than a few rules," she added. "The crisis is an opportunity to create an international architecture of institutions."

The centre-right German leader also warned businesses there was no returning to laissez-faire approaches by governments once the crisis has passed.

"Once everything is going better, the financial markets will tell us: 'you politicians don't need to get involved because everything is working again'," she said, according to the Guardian. "I will stay firm, we must not repeat the mistakes of the past."

Mr Sarkozy warned that capitalism could collapse if it is not restructured. "Either we re-found capitalism or we destroy it," he said. "Purely financial capitalism has perverted the logic of capitalism ...it is amoral. It is a system where the logic of the market excuses everything."

Former UK prime minister Tony Blair, a co-sponsor of the symposium, echoed the European leaders: "what is unavoidable in the longer term is a recasting of the system of international supervision."

"We have mid-20th-century international institutions governing a 21st century world," he added. "The reform of the IMF, the World Bank, the financial regulatory system [is] long overdue."

The meeting came as Germany announced it is to inject a further €10 billion into Commerzbank, in return for a 25 percent stake in the bank, while France offered another €10.5 billion for its six main banks.

Why are we witnessing such a drastic change in the economy on a global scale? Why are we starting to hear cries for a global solution?

We are getting a foretaste of things to come! With the rise of the world system of the antichrist in Revelation 13, we also find a world economic system. Just as we witnessed the birth of a single currency in Europe (the Euro), we are also seeing the trend to other regional currency in the middle east (link) and rumors of a North American currency (link). The present economic crisis, on such a global scale, will usher in the mark!

A Foretaste (Part I)

"Immediately after two Russian Tu-160 strategic bombers returned from Venezuela to their base in the Saratov region, a convoy of combat ships from the Northern Fleet set sail for the Caribbean. Why?" (link)

Close to two months after the Russian-Georgian conflict, Russian forces are still in Georgia. There is a tense peace as the world watches to see what Putin and Medvedev will do with an Oct 10 deadline for the Russian forces to pull back (link).

Russia looks to force the west to go it alone in it's contention with Iran on their nuclear program (link), rejecting any new measures (link), saying it was not urgent (link).

The war of words between the U.S and Russia continued when the world community came together at the U.N. General Assembly, with Russia seeming to have the upper hand in the eyes of the world.

Why are we witnessing this sudden chutzpah from the Russian bear?

We are getting a foretaste of things to come! Revelation 13 describes the rise of the antichrist within a world system that has Russia as it's foundation. It will be a group of 'united nations' that no longer has the U.S. as the power broker but will have the EU and Russia at it's center of power.

Just as the words of Christ indicate in Matthew, the events surrounding the endtime will be like that of the labor pains of a woman. With the intensity we began to see at the beginning of summer, there had been a lull over the last couple of weeks. The candidates had taken center stage, the price of oil and gas had waned, and the economy seemed to be headed up. Well, the 'birth pangs' have once again started - with even greater intensity! At the posting of this blog, Russian forces are moving against Georgian forces in Ossetia. There have been a reported 1000 deaths already. The news outlets continue to report a fear of all out war. We are once again seeing the rise of the Russian bear.

Earlier in the week, with Iran not giving an adequate response to the world community, the UN 5+1 were considering further sanctions. The Jerusalem Post reported that on August 7th the Kuwait Times posted an article that their country had learned that the US was sending two additional naval aircraft carriers to the Gulf and the Red Sea. With this news, the Kuwait government began to finalize their emergency war plans. There are already two U.S. naval battle groups operating in the Persian Gulf. The war drums sure appear to be beating.

A report out on August 8th in the Jerusalem Post has indicated that Israel has issued a warning to Russia. "If Russia goes through with the sale of its most advanced anti-aircraft missile system to Iran, Israel will use an electronic warfare device now under development to neutralize it and as a result present Russia as vulnerable to air infiltrations" stated an Israeli defense official. These are pretty harsh words, especially in light of what is currently going on in Georgia.

What is of prophetic interest that these nations - particularly Russia, Iran, and Israel - will be involved in a war in the last days. Just take a quick read of Ezekiel 38 & 39. Are we witnessing the prelude to the Gog/Magog war? Only time will tell.

It's All Coming Together!

On July 4th, while our nation was celebrating her independence, a special meeting was taking place in Brussels (link 1, link 2). Russian and EU leaders met for the first of three strategic meetings to bring about a stronger pact between the nations. This alliance appears to have already been foretold in the scriptures. If you recall from my first posting "Urgent Initial Message," Russia and the EU were prophesied to arise in the end of days in Daniel 7, along with the United States and what appears to be the United Nations. Revelation 13 shows these "beast nations" forming an alliance at the time of the end, creating the vehicle in which the antichrist would rise to power. This strategic partnership would be part of what Daniel 2 describes as a loosely united group of nation states at the end of days, run by 10 kings. Although the United Nations is not run by kings per se, she does have a Security Council with 5 permanent members (Britain, the U.S., China, France , & Russia). There has been a push, however, to extend that number to 10! Back in January, PM Gordan Brown proposed the expansion of the permanent members to the Security Council to include India, Germany, Japan, Brazil, & an African nation (link). Notice the 10 proposed nations would be split 50-50 in regards to east-west just as Daniel 2 describes. An even more important feature is that when the antichrist (the little horn) in Daniel 7, he uproots 3 kings but when we see the rise of the antichrist beast in Revelation 13, all 10 horns are present. If the 10 permanent member Security Council were to come about as PM Brown has suggested, 3 of those members ("kings") would belong to the European Union and thus could be uprooted and replaced by one individual!

We are much farther along than most realize - it is all coming together - what are you waiting for?

Sooner Than Later?

Over the weekend, Iran has vowed to continue their pursuit of uranium enrichment, one day after giving what appeared to be a positive response to the incentives package drawn up by the world powers (link). As of today (6/7/2008) the Telegraph, one of Britain's leading newspapers, has reported that Iran has restarted their work on 'highly sophisticated equipment' that is used primarily for the construction of atomic weapons (link). Also on Sunday, an Iranian military leader has reiterated that they will close the Strait of Hormuz (link) and created blitzkrieg in the Gulf if provoked (link). With the increased sword rattling, and given that President Mahmud Ahmadinejad of Iran has repeatedly threatened the U.S. and Israel with destruction (link), how much longer will it be before someone forcefully reacts??? I believe it may be sooner than later! We need to watch and pray.

What Are You Waiting For?

(My apologies for those of you receiving multiple e-mails for the posting. There has been a slight problem I needed to fix.)

Over 2600 years ago, a Gentile king by the name of Nebuchadnezzar had a dream that troubled him. Although he didn't remember the dream, a man called Daniel, one of the king's wisemen and a Jewish prophet, was able to tell the king the dream and the interpretation. Daniel informed Nebuchadnezzar that the God of heaven was making known to the king what would be in the last days (link).

Daniel describe a succession of Gentile kingdoms, starting with Babylon of Nebuchadnezzar, that would rule over the earth until the Lord would return to set up His kingdom. The empires that were being described were Babylon, the Mede-Persian, the Grecian, and the Roman. Daniel even described the split of the Roman empire into two parts - the east and west. All of this, most Bible prophecy teachers will agree. It is the last portion, the feet and toes of iron and clay, that there seems to be discrepancies.

Some will describe this as the Holy Roman Empire while others describe it as a revived Roman Empire. One thing one needs to notice is that this statue that Nebuchadnezzar dreamed of was contiguous, one empire/kingdom butted right up against another - there was no break in time from one being in power until the next was in power. Daniel described the split of the Roman empire into east and west then into a complete fragmentation. Out of this break-up we see the rise of nation states.

The nations that arose were also split between the east and west - and they are even til this day. And just how Daniel described in Daniel 2:43 (NASV), "And in that you saw the iron mixed with common clay, they will combine with one another in the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, even as iron does not combine with pottery." As the nations came to power, the very iron principles of the Roman Empire (the republic, democracy, code-of-law, taxation, etc) did not mix well with the various cultures and peoples. Daniel described this last empire/kingdom as a loose union of nation states.

Today, we might want to call it a United Nations. The United Nations that we are familiar with a loosely organized of nations that, in it's own right, is a world empire. Of course, Daniel described 10 kings that would be in power. The United Nations is made up of 192 nations. There is, however, a security council that makes the final decisions on how the global body will act. There are 5 permanent members: U.S., Britain, France, China, and Russia. Except for that, we could be witnessing the "empire" that will be in power when the Lord returns!

One last point to ponder. At the start of 2008, British Prime Minster Gordon Brown has called for security council reforms that include taking the number of permanent members to 10 (link). Those 5 new members would be India, Japan Brazil, Germany, and an African nation. This would give a world power, with 10 'kings', that are split evenly between the east and west! We are truly living in the last days! With seeing how late the hour truly is, what are you waiting for?

With the increased sanctions from the EU this past week, which has resulted in an even more defiant Iran, the stage is set for what appears to be military action. With our chief of Naval Operations visiting Israel last week, which was followed by a visit by the U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, has prompted speculation that Jerusalem and Washington were planning a joint military strike against Iran. With the Israeli air drill in early June, which was thought to be a simulation of an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, combined with Iran deploying its long-range Shihab missiles to launching position, war almost appears inevitable (link). Only the coming months will tell. Now is the time for prayer!!!

Watch and Pray

Top negotiator for Palestinian Authority says solutions at hand for all core issues, now is time for decision-making. Speaking at conference organized by Peres Center for Peace, Erekat says 'Israeli and Palestinian leaders who reach an agreement will be more important to region's history than Jesus' Israel News, 06.27.08 (emphasis mine)

Although I had planned on a more extensive posting in the coming days, the above article that I read this morning has just continued to burn in my mind. Erekat's words allows those of us who are watching through our "prophetic lenses" to understand how the world will 'wonder after the beast' as spoken of in Revelation 13. The one who can bring peace to the middle east will be considered greater than Jesus himself, as Erekat says. Is it any wonder that this individual will have no problem sitting in the temple of God, declaring himself a god, as Paul tells us in 2 Thessalonians 2?

This article brought to mind the words of another world leader, Paul Henri Spaak, the first president of the United Nations General Assembly. In 1949, he said "We do not want another committee. We have too many already. What we want is a man of sufficient stature to hold allegiance of all people and lift us out of the economic morass in which we are sinking. Send us such a man and be he god or the devil we will receive him." (emphasis mine)

We are truly living in unprecedented times! Erekat's words are only one of the many sign posts that are popping up over the entire globe, warning us the Church is soon to reach her final destination. We need to heed the words of Jesus from Mark 21:37, "And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch."

Urgent Initial Message

Dear Reader:

As my first blog message, I am writing this letter to you today out of a great sense of urgency! As one examines the newspaper headlines or listens to the evening news, they are able to recognize that we are living in troublesome times:

Even those that are not avid readers of Bible prophecy recognize that something is just on the horizon. Thanks to the Left Behind fictional book series, which has been on the fiction best sellers list several times over, has made even the non-Christian aware of such things as the rapture, the mark of the beast, and the antichrist.

The time is now at hand that the churches need to teach the truth concerning endtime Bible prophecy. Even the apostle John, writing almost 2000 years ago, tells us this same thing:

“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.”
Revelation 1:1-3 (emphasis mine)

The time truly is at hand and the message is even more critical for the American churches than ever before! You may be puzzled – why the American churches? Bear with me for a moment. Go now, open up your Bible and read Daniel 7 – all of it. Seriously! Take a few minutes to read the chapter before you move on with this letter.

This vision of Daniel is so often interpreted to represent the kingdoms of Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome – as in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream from Daniel 2. Now, take a closer look – examine verse 17:

“These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.”

The interpretation given to Daniel is that of four nations that shall arise – future tense! Also notice verses 11 & 12. These first three beasts/nations are in existence at the time that the fourth beast/nation is on the earth. This fourth beast, as described in verses 19 thru 27, with its little horn, is none other than the last day’s antichrist world system. I believe that what Daniel has been shown is the modern nations that will be in existence at the time of the antichrist and the return of the Lord.

As you may be able to tell, I view these beasts of Daniel 7 to be the modern nations of Great Britain, the United States, Russia, and Germany/European Union. The fourth beast, of course, is the final government of the antichrist – which is depicted even more clearly in Revelation 13:

“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power . . .”

This final beast is made up of the same beasts of Daniel 7, a union of nations! Except when you look carefully, there are no eagle’s wings. That which represents the U.S. is missing! Why?

I have put together a multimedia teaching (PowerPoint, overheads, etc.) that is meant to help answer that very question and look at other aspects of Bible prophecy.
